We are  recruiting long-term interns, who wish to work at, and support the local rural  communities in India, are interested in exchanging knowledge of Japanese and  Indian agricultural traditions, and would live on the MSCNFE campus with staff,  trainees and students.
The  contents of the interns’ duties will vary, but the primary duty would be to  support the projects that are enforced by the MSCNFE. If you are especially interested in organic farming and/or rural  development, please state so at the time you contact us, or on the application  form. 
                      Qualification:
                        A  healthy 18+ year old individual who’s English is above communication level,  and is interested in rural development, rural community life, diversity of  cultures, and religious community. We do not question one’s country of origin.  While living in a dormitory on campus, one will be exposed to people with various  religious backgrounds, customs and practices, ranging from Christianity,  Hinduism, and other Indian religions.  
                      Internship Period:
                        More  than 60 days, less than 1 year. (May be considered for official staff  employment after the internship, depending on one’s request and  knowledge/ability) 
                        You are  required to obtain visa to visit India. Please consult us regarding visa at the  time of application.
                        We also  accept short term visitors. 
                      Cost:
                        You are  exempted from paying the housing fee, as you will be living in the dormitory of  MSCNFE. However, the dorm does not have a kitchen space, so please  understand that you are required to pay for your own food expenses and eat at  the department cafeteria.  
                        Food  expense: 3000 yen/month (MSCNFE cafeteria)
                        Dormitory  expense: exempt
                      It takes  about 9 hours by train to get from Delhi Airport to the campus of Sam  Higgingbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences Makino School  of Continuing and Non-Formal Education. It is possible to arrange a guide from  the airport to the campus, but please understand that we may adjust the dates  depending on the schedules of the staff members.

                       Please  apply at least a month before your visit, as it requires some time to book the  train tickets and to arrange the staff schedules.
The weather in India is extremely dry and harsh during April, May,  and June. Additionally, those months are  set aside as a preparation period for the 10 month training program for the  young agriculturists, as a period for seminars and evaluations outside campus  for staffs, and as a period to return to Japan for Japanese staff members. So,  please plan to visit India from July onwards.
